The Japanese company Mcusta manufactures high-quality, elegant knives. The name Mcusta is a combination of man, machine and custom. As the name suggests, these pocket knives are the result of a fusion between man and machine. An original brand of pocket knives, creating gentleman's knives with a unique Japanese design and a finish normally only found on custom-made knives.
Mcusta damascus and other premium materials Mcusta chooses the finest materials for every knife.
Durability, functionality and aesthetics are at the heart of their concerns. So their knives are not only beautiful, they're practical too. They are made from superb materials such as damascus steel, micarta, anodized aluminum and special woods.
How Mcusta pocket knives are made
Mcusta uses a manufacturing method quite different from that of other cutlers. They don't make their knives from long metal plates, but each component is laser-cut and then machined by a CNC machine. This guarantees the most precise results possible. Each knife is then assembled by hand, adjusted, finished and inspected by a team of highly qualified specialists.
The history of Mcusta pocket knives
Mcusta knives are made in Seki, Japan. This has been the capital of Japanese cutlery since the XIIIᵉ century. Seki is the ideal location, thanks to an abundance of coal and water, and iron-rich soil. Everything you need to make quality knives. Mcusta is closely associated with Zanmai kitchen knives and Silky scissors. All three brands are part of Marusho Industry, Inc. a scissor manufacturing company founded in 1964. Mcusta was created in 2000 to manufacture pocket knives, and Zanmai in 2006 for kitchen knives. Today, these brands are still manufactured in Seki, Japan.
