ELISHEWITZ - BB-PS-BKG10 - Black Box Dagger Partial Serration

Ellen Elishewitz filed a patent application for the conceptual knife Black Box. The idea of a fixed blade with a portion retractable into the handle is a concept he conceived in the late '90s, which was put into production by Masters Of Defense as the Phoenix, featuring a button lock mechanism. For this Black Box concept, he revisited the Phoenix idea and completely redesigned the knife, from its shape to the locking mechanism and sheath. He then found a manufacturer capable of producing these knives to the quality level he desired and at an affordable price.

The concept allows the user to carry a 4" fixed blade with a portion retracted into the handle, exposing only 1.5". The sheath attaches to the blade's tip, and upon drawing, the blade deploys. The patent-pending mechanism locks the blade in the open position. When the lock is disengaged, the blade smoothly retracts into the handle, enabling safe reholstering (this sequence is crucial for secure and seamless reinsertion). The sheath features a clip for attachment to clothing and gear, enabling users to carry a 4" fixed blade in a compact package. The aluminum ring can be positioned vertically, horizontally, or removed entirely (patent pending). Four different blade configurations are available: Dagger (with options for no serration, partial serration, or full serration) and a single edge.
